The codex
Every fighter and hero in DANKGAME, with the numbers the game itself uses. There are two peoples to play, each with 8 kinds of fighter and a hero who stands behind the army and casts powers.
-
The Vale Host
A balanced line that wins the first blow. Led by the Commander; 8 kinds of fighter, from Spearman (12 gold) to Drake (260 gold).
-
The Peatholm
They lose the short fight and win the long one. Led by the Sedge Mother; 8 kinds of fighter, from Peat Cutter (8 gold) to Shrineback (230 gold).
Every fighter
A stack is many creatures of one kind. Gold is the price of one creature; Muster is the most creatures one stack may hold, and only the front rank strikes at once. How to play explains the battle rules these numbers feed.
The Vale Host
The Peatholm
The heroes
- Commander (The Vale Host): 70 HP, defence 10, powers Brass Lance (2 Command), Mend the Ranks (3 Command) and Standard Ward (2 Command).
- Sedge Mother (The Peatholm): 60 HP, defence 8, powers Sinking Ground (2 Command), Bitter Dew (3 Command) and Moss Bed (2 Command).
Keywords
Each unit carries one or two keywords, small rules of its own. All 12 keywords are listed with what they do and a worked example in the game’s numbers.
Conquest
Conquest is the long mode: one hero, one army, a hand-made map of 10 by 18 tiles and a boss at the far end.
- Haskett, the Millstone Reeve: the boss, his marked blow, his roar at half health, and the wardens that seal his lair.
- Monster lairs: the three sizes, who guards each and what a win pays.
- The Wild Beasts: the 5 monsters that hold the lairs, Thornback Shrew, Gorse Hog, Ridge Lynx, Carrion Kite and Barrow Bear, and the Pack rule they hunt by.
- The Causeway Meres: one road north over the causeway between the meres; 15 days.
- Reedford: a river to cross, by the bridge or the western ford; 15 days.
- Resources, mines, dwellings, chests and the town: what the map gives and what it costs.
- Broadwater: the Large map, still an experiment; a wide country cut by a river, a bridge in the east and a ford in the west; 36 by 36 tiles, two towns, watchtowers, and no day limit.
- The Warpath: the 5 harder levels a won match opens, and what each one adds.
The Duel
Two players, one mirrored map, the same days on a clock, and one final battle. How a Duel works and how to invite a friend: the three speeds, the day limit and what happens if someone drops.
Play Conquest, the quick battle and the Duel all use these numbers.
